The Faculty of Law of St.-Petersburg State University in association with the law firm S&K Vertical continue to implement a new educational project “Corporate lawyer”, aimed at integration of practical knowledge into academic process.

As part of the project, the leading lawyers of the major Russian companies will give seminars to students of the Faculty of Law of St.-Petersburg State University. Such seminars will be dedicated not only to legal aspects in a particular area, but also to advising students on career issues.

Such events are strongly sought-for in student circles, while the necessity to integrate practical and educational processes is recognised at the national level.

On May 18, 2010, the second seminar from the “Corporate lawyer” series was hold, dedicated to working issues faced by legal departments of the major sports clubs of Russia.

Furthermore, speakers and participants of the seminar have discussed specifics of legal regulation of sports in Russia, and made an unanimous note of contradictions existing between regulations of sports clubs which are mainly governed by regulations and rules of the Russian and international sports federations, and current norms of the law. The subject of the seminar aroused much interest in students who asked many questions.

The seminar program also included questioning students about issues of the sports legal matters and about an option to create a training course for the Faculty of Law of St.-Petersburg State University.

Following the speeches delivered, the speakers announced the competition and let the students present their own vision as to resolving difficult legal issues arising out of activity of their clubs. Winners of the competition will receive valuable prizes awarded by FC Zenith CJSC and SKA Ice Hockey Club CJSC.
