Lubov Duyko participated in X Forum of Mass Media of the North-West Region of Russia

The X Forum of Mass Media of the North-West Region of Russia was held on October 18-19, 2012. This year the Forum was conducted in the President Library named after B.N.Yeltsyn, which is the first national electronic library in Russia.
The main subject of the Forum this year has something in common with the subject year “Russian People” announced by the President Library. The Forum participants discussed public communication aspects that influence formation of the information environment. In particular, they talked about crowd-sourcing and info media, open network society, new requirements to journalism, interaction of social networks and mass media in reporting about extraordinary events. Presentation of united media-resource of Saint Petersburg Government was also held during the Forum, some pace bridges with Russian regions were conducted. The exhibition “Media-Atlas of the North-West Region-2012” was also open on the first day of the Forum.
Lubov Dujko participated in discussion of the subject “Open network society, is it an information democracy, or a virtual anarchy?” that took place at the Forum on October 18.
Participants of the round table came to the conclusion that all conditions were present in Russia for organization of process of active interaction between the state and the public using the new information communication technologies. Efficiency of implementation, support and use of the information communications became one of the state performance criteria, and the new technologies of the electronic democracy should become a part of procurement of activity of the whole state authority system on the federal, regional and municipal levels.
